According to IMF, Argentina had a positive Current Account to GDP from 2002 to 2009 reaching maximum of 8 percent in 2002. However, since 2009 Current Account Balance has been showing a downward trend, consequently it has reached a negative value again in 2010 the equal to the deficit of 0.3 percent. International Monetary Fund expects continued recession of Current Account Balance until the end of forecast with a value of -4.2 percent by 2021 that is near to a record low of -4.5 percent in 1998.
