Deaths from drug overdose have been identified as a significant public health burden in the United States in recent years. This report uses data from the National Vital Statistics System (NVSS) to highlight recent trends in drug overdose deaths, describing demographic and geographic patterns as well as the types of drugs involved.

U.S. Employment by Sector -  Monthly data

Month-by-month data for the number of firearms background checks initiated through the NICS from November 1998 to previous month.  The National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, is all about saving lives and protecting people from harm—by not letting guns fall into the wrong hands. It also ensures the timely transfer of firearms to eligible gun buyers.

The international goods and services deficit was $74.6 billion in April, up $14.0 billion from $60.6 billion in March. April exports were $249.0 billion, $9.2 billion less than March exports. April imports were $323.6 billion, $4.8 billion more than March imports. 

The mission of the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is to provide the public with a reliable and convenient reporting mechanism to submit information to the FBI concerning suspected Internet-facilitated criminal activity and to develop effective alliances with industry partners. Information is processed for investigative and intelligence purposes for law enforcement and public awareness.

The USGS Mineral Resources Program (MRP) provides scientific information for objective resource assessments and unbiased research results on mineral potential, production, consumption, and environmental effects. The MRP is the sole Federal source for this information. Values of 2019 are estimated.

The violent crime figures include the offenses of murder, rape (legacy definition), robbery, and aggravated assault.Violent Crime  Violent crime is composed of four offenses: murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Violent crimes are defined in the UCR Program as those offenses that involve force or threat of force. The Violent Crime section of this report provides more information about violent crime and an overview of violent crime data for 2017. Property Crime  Property crime includes the offenses of burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson. The object of the theft-type offenses is the taking of money or property, but there is no force or threat of force against the victims. The Property Crime section of this report provides more information about property crime and an overview of property crime data for 2017. 

Regional Crime Statistics of U.S.

The State Energy Data System (SEDS) is the U.S. Energy Information Administration's (EIA) source for comprehensive State energy statistics. Included are estimates of energy production, consumption, prices, and expenditures broken down by energy source and sector. Production and consumption estimates begin with the year 1960 while price and expenditure estimates begin with 1970.

1). U.S. Gross Output: Gross output is the value of gross domestic product (GDP) plus the value of intermediate inputs used to produce GDP 2). Implicit Price Deflator: The gross domestic product implicit price deflator is used to convert nominal dollars to chained (2009) dollars.

Note: This dataset presents the weekly unemployment insurance (UI) claims reported by each state's unemployment insurance program offices. These claims may be used for monitoring workload volume. Where the claimant claims the claim is filed directly with the claimant. These are the basis for the initial claims and continued claims reported each week. These data come from ETA 538, Advance Weekly Initial and Continued Claims Report. The following week initial claims and continuing claims are based on a second reporting by the state of residence. These data come from the ETA 539, Weekly Claims and Extended Benefits Trigger Data Report.

This data contains provisional counts for drug overdose deaths based on a current flow of mortality data in the National Vital Statistics System. Counts for the most recent final annual data are provided for comparison. National provisional counts include deaths occurring within the 50 states and the District of Columbia as of the date specified and may not include all deaths that occurred during a given time period. Provisional counts are often incomplete and causes of death may be pending investigation (see Technical notes) resulting in an underestimate relative to final counts. To address this, methods were developed to adjust provisional counts for reporting delays by generating a set of predicted provisional counts (see Technical notes). Starting in June 2018, this monthly data release will include both reported and predicted provisional counts.
