Each federal fiscal year begins October 1 and ends September 30. Q1 ends 12/31, Q2 ends 3/31, Q3 ends 6/30, and Q4 ends 9/30In-School:Includes loans that have never entered repayment as a result of the borrower's enrollment in schoolGrace:Includes loans that have entered a six-month grace period after the borrower is no longer enrolled in school at least half-time. Borrowers are not expected to make payments during graceRepayment:Includes loans that are in an active repayment statusDeferment:Includes loans in which payments have been postponed as a result of certain circumstances such as returning to school, military service, or economic hardshipForbearance:Includes loans in which payments have been temporary suspended or reduced as a result of certain types of financial hardshipsCumulative in Default:Includes loans that are more than 360 days delinquentOther:Includes loans that are in non-defaulted bankruptcy and in a disability statusDollars Outstanding:Includes the outstanding principal and interest balance of loans in the specified statusRecipients:Includes the number of recipients in the specified loan status. The recipient is the student that benefits from the federal student loan. In most cases, the recipient is the borrower, but in parent PLUS loans, the parent is the borrower and their child is the recipient

The office of Federal Student Aid delivers aid to students through loan, grant, and work-study programs. These reports provide recipient and volume data by program for each school participating in the Title IV programs.
